This week APL Team Knockout returns, for the 2018 season.

As a reference for new teams, see below from APL rules.

4. KNOCK-OUT EVENTS

4.1 league Knock-events, are for the purpose, of league players only. All league individual KO events, ( singles & doubles etc) cannot be individuals unless they are deemed a league player by playing at least one league game prior to event.

A player must have played in at least 50% of matches to qualify as a team player for knock-out.

4.2 In the event that a player who does not fulfil the criteria in 4.1 plays in any league KO event regardless of the score, either the team or individual will be disqualified and their opponents awarded the win.

Your committee has decided to relax the ruling in 4.1 with regard to the 50%, purely for the 1st round only, due to this being close to beginning of season. No new players can be registered, as players need to have played for their team this season. ALL RULES will apply from 2nd round.

Round 1 22nd March 2018

1) Bonny Cravat 0-2 Queens Head B @ Willesborough cons Club
2) The Magic 0-2 The Phoenix @ Old Prince of Wales
3) Woolpack B 2-0 The Albion @ Plough Inn
4) Loco B 0-0 Ashford Club A @ Singleton Barn
5) Phoenix SB 0-0 Singleton Barn A @ Bonny cravat
6) Toomeys Cons 0-2 Ashford Club B @ The Windmill.

All games, as well as Venues were drawn, in which Venues all to be Neutral. See handicap applied, with straight race to 8 frames. Winning captains to post sheets on the night via whatsApp.

Please prepare to pay for tables, although every venue may be different, same will apply to refreshments. All venues will receive a match for every team they have entered into the league.

Either lag, or flick a coin to award Home team, and then again for Break, Home team on night fill in sheet 1st.

Good Afternoon All,

This week your committee held a very productive meeting, in which many topics were discussed, You can now view all minutes from the meeting, within view / committee from top of this page, all previous meetings can be seen.

The John Morrison's Masters qualification process will now be as follows:

1) ALL PLAYERS to have competed in APL PREM DIVISION for both Summer and Winter Leagues in same calendar year.

2) Minimum of frames played is 50% from both Summer and Winter campaigns individually. ( example, this season you must play 30 frames from 60 available)

3) From above point no 2, all stats will be combined, this will provide the Final 16 players. this will be updated as soon as your winter 2018 season completes.

Good Morning all,

After many discussions with Jack steer, and ongoing chats between the team and the Bonny Cravat Landlord , I can happily now inform you that the Bonny Cravat will be continuing to play in the league.

Due to the circumstance surrounding, Last weeks fixture :

Windmill Potluck v Bonny, @ windmill

could I ask that Both captains try to re arrange this fixture , due to no space for catch ups this will need to be another night? or Double header, This needs to be played before 19th April. I will discuss more with both captains.

Thank you kindly for all responding with Score sheets, so promptly this week, this really helps and I can get all scores and players registered without delays.

As Most of you are aware, unfortunately due to personnel circumstances changing yesterday forcing The Bonny Cravat to withdraw from the League. we wish the Bonny and team players all the best and Hope that they return in the near future.
We will endeavour to fill this void that has been left in the fixtures, If anyone knows anybody or any venue that may have an interest please contact me ASAP.

Thank you kindly to Kenny sharp, Stan Bourne, Dan Morrison, Ricky Clifton and Karl Ades whom assisted and concluded the Draw for the 2018 team Knockout during our match last Night @ The woolpack!

Round 1 ties will be played Thursday 22nd March, These matches were all drawn and include Neutral venues. As per our rules from 2017 KO,

1) RACE to 8
2) Players have to been included in 50% of frames within the current season by KO dates.
3)Divisional scoring. lower division to Commence on +2 Handicap

Good evening all, Congratulations to Joe Cronin, who won the masters 2017 yesterday, and will become the 1st winner to be engraved on THE JOHN MORRISON CUP!

Thank you kindly to The Ashford Club who accommodated the Masters, all day yesterday, The final 16 players from the entire 2017 seasons broke off at 11;30AM , 10 HOURS, 15 MATCHES AND 138 FRAMES later we had Our 1st Champion JOE CRONIN!

Thank you to all players, for competing in a fantastic, entertaining and friendly competition. As we know this is more than just a tournament, and was great to listen to some great memories JOHN MORRISON had left with the APL players,

It was fantastic to see the top 4 seeds unscathed make it through to fight out the semi finals. fast forward to the final, Joe flew out the traps, in truth never giving his opponent Dan Nisbit a chance, racing to a 8-2 victory including 3 dishes,

Thank you also to Dan Gibbs who helped me run proceeding throughout the day. All rounds can be viewed via competition, and Masters 2017 at top of page.
